Meet Taiki, Seiya and Yaten, the coolest and cutest band in the world, the Three Lights!
What! You DON'T know them yet? Well, they came from the Planet Kinmoku, in another galaxy. When their Princess Fireball/Kakyuu disappeared, they came to search for her on Earth, because she and they were the only survivors left, after the destruction of the planet by Galaxia. They formed a very popular band, The Three Lights, known all over the world and by which they send subliminal messages on every song of theirs, subliminal messages that only their Princess shall understand. However, their senshi forms are the Sailor StarLights, three cute girls that are sailor senshi, with star powers. But in their Three Lights form, Seiya, Taiki and Yaten are normal 16-year-old boys who go to Juubankoukou (Juuban High School), in Japan, Tokyo. Always pursued by a huge mass of fan girls, they are the most popular band in Japan! Now, do you want to meet the cutest guys on Earth?

Okay, first off, I'm going to cover the topics that so many people make the biggest mistakes about Seiya on. :::shakes her head in dismay:::
The 3 lights are not brothers. Everyone says, "But their last names are all 'Kou'!" But as I just pointed out, that is completely and totally false. Also, they're born at different times, all in the year 1980. That would not be POSSIBLE unless the natal cycle is different on their home planet. (Don't you dare start backing it up with that) So, no, the 3 lights are not, I repeat not brothers.
And not only that, but they could never be brothers. If anything related they would be sisters. Yes, they're really women. They took the form of men in hopes of having better chances to find their princess here on earth. But, in the real world, they're women. Takeuchi even drew them as the 3 lights, dressed as women. (Not the starlights, the 3 lights [the band].) So yes, they're women.
Next. Seiya is not bi-sexual. And no, that's not because I have a problem with homosexuality. After all, Seiya is a lesbian. He does not like men, and as a woman, he is attracted to women. As a man, he is attracted to women. Everytime, he's attracted to the same sex. No matter what, he digs chicks.
Whew. Now that I'm done correcting all the major mistakes, I'll go on to some more less important info on our dearest.
Using his headseat, he transforms to become 'Sailor Starfighter' using the henshin command, "Star fighter power, make up!". Then he becomes a chick again.
Using his cute little star-shaped locket with wings, he attacks his enemy using the command, "Star serious laser!"
He appeared in episode 173. First at a concert with his fellow and members, second at the airport when Usagi was wishing Mamoru farewell, and thirdly on a bench when Usagi didn't recognize him as the famous person he is. He called her, "Odango!" and Usagi became upset because only "her mamo" could call her that. And besides, it was "Odango Atama", not "Odango". (Her words, not mine.)

Healer Star Power, Make Up!
Yaten yells this to transform into Sailor StarHealer, transforming himself into the pretty member of the Sailor StarLights (yes, this means the appropriate anatomic parts decrease and increase!). Actually there are two transformations for the same henshin (transformation) phrase. The 1st transformation is very plain, but the second one is very good, not to mention the awesome BGM it has. They are both worth it.
Star Sensitive Inferno!
StarHealer's attack, the most awesome in the StarLights! I just LOOOVE the way she says "Inferno". A star appears on his hand and she raises it, whirling once and throwing it forward, with this kool lightning effect.
Starlight Henshin Microphone
This is the microphone (Michael Jackson style one) they use to transform. They have it in their ear when they shout their henshin phrase. It's an awesome piece, actually, with the upper part that fits in the ear with the StarLights emblem, a star with wings (the same emblem that is in the middle of their chests when they are transformed).
SailorStar Yell
This is an object that StarHealer gets later on the series. It is a little star that she uses to perform her attack; she channels her attack by it. (The star actually is kinda nifty, it makes this weird noise and has wings too ^^;)
The sarcastic and obnoxious member of the Three Lights Group, and also part of the Sailor StarLights, SailorStarHealer. First appeared on episode 173, along with his best friends and band members. At first didn't appear much, and everytime he talked he seemed a narcisist, obnoxious, self-centered guy, with quite a lot of sarcasm and a distant and arrogant attitude towards others. However later we can see that he is kind hearted and has a twisted soul, full of dillemas that he tries hard to solve. He loves cats (Luna got a crush on him) and he hates physical activity, so on Juubankoukou he joined the Home Coming club. (In Juubankoukou, every student uses to join a club). In the manga Yaten was very admired by all the girls in the school and he often let out litle sarcastic comments to everyone, as in the anime to Usagi and the Inners (however in the manga he did it with Michiru, she didn't like it much!). Sometimes Yaten seems a little distant of the other two, locked up in his world, especially when Taiki and Seiya began some quarrels, however he too was at the point of punching Seiya..
Yaten has also a quite hard relationship with Haruka (they ARE both Aquarians), so, every time they see each other, you be sure they'll argue.. (not counting with Haruka's "un-tolerance" towards the Three Lights /Starlights and especially Seiya...). But Yaten also resembles alot to Haruka in personality, both of them probably being the most alike senshi, with both their twisted souls and masks.
In the band he has a great part, playing the bass.. he takes chorus lessons with the help of Taiki (and MAN, he's GOT a voice... *sigh*). He also takes dancing lessons with the other two, and he is co-lyricist and composer with the other two.
Yaten is also SailorStarHealer, the silver-haired StarLight... as StarHealer his personality doesn't change, and Miss StarHealer is also very sarcastic and mean to the other senshi, and doesn't agree with Seiya's idea of joining Sailormoon. However, as in his Yaten form, it's crap, because she is a person with a very big heart, and with an extreme devotion to the princess, showing all her emotions at the end of Stars. However, StarHealer can be very determined when it is needed, charging agaisnt her objectives with all her strenght. She, too, in the end, learns how to believe in Sailormoon...
After the discovery of the Princess, and the final fight with Galaxia, the StarLights can return to their planet with their princess to rebuilt it. Yaten must say farewell to this world... and leaving with the other StarLights and Kakyuu, they leave a shining star path in the sky.

The tallest of the Three Lights band, and also one of the Sailor StarLights, Sailor StarMaker. He appeared in episode 173 along with his best friends and band members. Beeing a practical guy, he always keeps a distance and often pairs with Yaten in the arrogant style. He is very intelligent, sometimes surpassing Mizuno Ami (Sailormercury), which annoys her. He is also a very practical guy, who sees the world in purely cientific terms. At Juubankoukou he joined the Literary club, a poetry lover as he is. He is a very proud and arrogant guy, and treats others with distance, though sometimes he can't avoid it and he is picked up and dragged away by one of his fans ( Aino Minako (Sailorvenus) attached herself to him on episode 174, it was hillarious! ^_^) He is very nice though, when you know him well.
In the band Taiki has the second major part, beeing in charge of the keyboards. He also plays the piano, and has dancing lessons. He is also a vocal, though I don't like his voice much, he sings well.
Taiki's alias is Sailor StarMaker, the arrogant, distant and practical member of the Sailor StarLights. As SailorStarMaker, Taiki's personality doesn't change, and she always has a certain distance to the other senshi, treating them as if they were inferior, and she especially dislikes Sailor StarFighter's attempts to join the other senshi, thing which she promptly refuses, once beeing at the point of (with Sailor StarHealer), fighting the Outer Senshi. After the identities of everyone are discovered, Taiki's position falls a bit out of comfort, as well as all the other StarLight's ones. But because of his distance he doesn't speak about it.

Common Mistakes
-Sailor Stars?- People actually call the SailorStarLights SailorStars! I believe this results as a misinterpretation and an association of the title of the 5th season of Sailormoon to the new senshi that appear on the same series. However, this is a MAJOR error. The SailorStarLights introduce themselves as so when they appear, in each episode. Therefore I think there should be no possible mistake.
-Kou?-When searching for information on this subject I fount two sides to this story. Both were supported well so I'm posting both of them. Kou is the Three Lights LAST name. People often think it is the first due to the common sense that in Japan, last name comes first. However, for idols, if you look around in japanese magazines (such as Newtype ^^;), you may discover that in every idol article or announcement or whatever, first name comes first and last name comes last. Don't ask me why, but it is true. Therefore, I should apply the same rule to our dear band. On the other hand, wouldn't it sound real strange if they were all named Kou? A little loss of originality, ne?
Eolo also pointed out to me that they are foreigners, therefore not from Japan, because they have the furigana (the little letters on top of the kanji to know how to read it) on top of the kanji in their names as katakana (the japanese alphabet used to write foreign words), therefore indicating that they are not from Japan. Therefore, if they are not from Japan, their name is read just the same way as in all countries... first name comes first, last name comes last. An example of this is Li Shaolan from Card Captor Sakura (CLAMP). His first name is Li, and he is always introduced as Li Shaolan (even in school), because he is from Hong-Kong. He also has the furigana in the top of the kanji in his name written in katakana. -From Three Lights Backstage His first name is "Kou" and his last name is "Seiya". And yes I'm right, so don't write me saying, "No, you're wrong. His last name is Kou." How am I so positive? Because he introduces himself as "Seiya Kou". And as we all know, the Japanese introduce themselves first name LAST. So he's saying that "Seiya" is his last name and "Kou" is his first name. Got it?
*sigh* why do you people question me? Okay, here is Seiya saying his OWN name "Seiya Kou", so THAT is his name and THAT is the pronounciation. Seiya (Say-ah,) last name, Kou (Koe) first name. Are you people happy now?
-From Starfigher Shrine
-Brothers?- The Three Lights descended to Earth under a cover, that implied the brothers thing. Otherwise, why would they all have the same last names? However, they aren't brothers... I don't even think they are brothers in Kinmoku-sei, but anyways... it just would be plain weird have twins with so different characteristics.
Naoko Takeuchi-sensei pointed out in ComiCon that the Three Lights are best friends. Just for you to know. - This info was found in The Sailor Star Lights Homepage.
-Boys or Girls?- This is one on which I can find an easy answer. On a flashback that the Three Lights have with their princess, they are transformed, and on Kinmoku-sei. Therefore I should admit that, as with the senshi, they are always transformed when in duty, therefore, always girls. The Three Lights also mention once that they came to Earth disguised as boys to find the Princess more easily. Don't ask me why. Still, I prefer to believe that they have both genders, and on Kinmoku-sei, there aren't genders. Therefore its inhabitants can have both genders.
-Vocals, Guitar, Keyboard?- In all of the pages I've seen, the Three Lights have wrong band parts. Did this people see Stars, or just plainly rip off other persons pages? I'd go for the second choice... *sigh*
Well, the fact is that in the episode where the Lights perform with Michiru in a concert, you can see their band parts: you see Seiya playing a guitar, Yaten playing the bass, and Taiki on the keyboards. On other episodes, you can see Seiya playing the drums, and Taiki playing the piano.
-Tranvestites?- Oh please. They change genders, they are absolutely NOT tranvestites.
